CKST Families,

Where has the time gone this summer?  We only have one more dual meet, then league, and then finally the state meet.  It's time that all the swimmer's hard work will really start to show in the last few weeks of the season. 

For new families, or those who haven't had the chance to attend in previous years, the state meet is the big finale of the season, where top swimmers from teams from across the metro area come together to compete.  For those swimmers who have qualified, it is quite an accomplishment to attend.  As we get closer, we may be reaching out to check your swimmer's availability to participate in a relay.  If there is at least 1 swimmer in the age group who has a qualifying time, the team can submit a relay with that state qualifying swimmer along with  others who didn't have a qualifying time this year.  Be sure to keep an ear out to see if your swimmer will be called upon. 

Each year, the honor of hosting state rotates from league to league.  This year happens to be South Jeffco's year to host.  Ken Caryl is hosting the the meet this year (July 28th evening, 29th morning, 30th morning), which means it is a great year to come and cheer on our friends and teammates since we don't have far to go!  Bring the kids to cheer on the older kids and junior coaches and to give them something to strive for next year.  At the end of each morning, the meet will need to be picked up to allow for the pool to be open to their patrons by 11:00 am, so we are committed to keeping each morning a fairly short and smooth event.  South Jeffco Swim League has been planning since last winter and all throughout summer to make sure we come together to pull this event off.  With any event this size, volunteers will be needed.  I expect that our team's commitments will exceed the number of participants, which means we will need additional help from families who might not have a swimmer there that day.  

We have listed the duties CKST has for the meet online in the event details.  If available to help, please sign up online early so we can sleep easy that our team's commitments are going to be met.  PPF credits will be counted towards your yearly requirement if you are coming to the end of the year and are looking for a few extra shifts.  Please let us know if you have any questions about the meet or the rest of the wind down of the season.
