Practice Policies
To be eligible to participate on a summer club team, an athlete must cease practicing and competing on or before May 15th with any team that does not abide by the South Jeffco Swim League and the Colorado State Summer Club Bylaws. Any athlete caught violating this rule will lose the right to continue participating with CKST for the season.
To join CKST, swimmers 8 years and under must be capable of swimming 25 meters of freestyle or backstroke unsupported. Swimmers 9 years and older must be capable of swimming 50 meters of freestyle or backstroke unsupported. All swimmers must also be proficient (complete a few proper strokes) in backstroke, breaststroke, or butterfly.
Two weeks of practice is provided for swimmers to develop the endurance and skills necessary to meet these requirements. A stroke assessment will be conducted by the coaches to ensure all members of the team meet the minimum requirements.
Swimmers not meeting the minimum requirements are encouraged to participate in a swim lesson program or have private lessons to develop the necessary skills to join the team. Please contact Kathy Wallace (303) 979-5120 at Columbine Knolls Pool to schedule a lesson. Swimmers who meet the minimum requirements later in the season are welcome to join the team, based on availability.
If your child does not meet the minimum swimming requirements by the first swim meet, your registration fee will be refunded, less a 10% processing fee.
NO REGISTRATION FEE REFUNDS will be given for a swimmer after the first swim meet.
