CKST League meet details - Entries needed tonight
CKST Family,
First, great meet this last Saturday. What a way to wrap up our regular season. I have attached the results.
As we look toward this week and our league meets, and we now know who has qualified for the Gold League meet Saturday (Distance Events on Friday at Silver), and who will participate in Silver League on Friday, attached are details for each meet, including start times. For all swimmers, entries this week are due to CKST by noon on MONDAY, so we can get entries to the host teams by their Tuesday deadline. Please enter events tonight.
Here is an overview who will participate in each meet.
To swim at Gold:
All 13 and older swimmers
Any swimmer 12 and under with 2 or more Gold qualification times.
Non-qualified swimmers asked and able to compete on a relay only.
Silver Meet Participants: Swimmers who did not meet a gold qualification time.
For swimmers who qualified GOLD in 1 event, they have choices to make. Below is an email from the league that will outline all the swimmer's options:
Regarding swimmers who can swim at the Silver Meet: They must be a Lower Division (12 & under) swimmer with one or fewer Gold LeagueException: If an individual swims only INDIVIDUAL EVENTS in silver, they may swim relays in the Gold meet only. If that swimmer swims in relays and individuals at SIlver, they may not swim in the GOLD meet. If a swimmer chooses to swim their gold event at the gold meet, they may not swim at the silver meet. If a swimmer has 2 or more qualifying events in Gold, they may only swim Gold. Swimmers can not qualify for the Gold meet at Silver. All swimmers must have times for both silver and gold meets. No NT Example: Sally has qualified for 9 and 10 100 free for gold only. She has a few choices:Championship qualifying times in any individual eventCan they:A) Swim silver any 3 events at silver, including the event they qualified in? No, may only swim silver in any other event that they did not qualify for goldB) Swim any 3 Silver events, except the the event they qualified in, and swim that event at gold? No, may only swim in one meet-Silver or gold.C) Swim any 2 events in silver only and the one they qualified in Gold? No- may only swim in gold or silver
1. She may swim in the silver meet in all other events other than the 100 free. She may swim in relays at silver.
2. Sally may swim her other 3 individual events at silver, but does not swim in silver relays, she is eligible to swim in medley and/or free relays at gold, no individual events.
3. Sally could choose to swim her 100 free in the gold meet and would not swim any events in silver; individual or relays.
So as you can see, there are a number of moving parts to the relays that the coaches will have to have their hands full.
I hope this helps answer any questions. This is the first year our league as split the league into 2 meets, like this, and will be evaluating all aspects of this for years to come. we welcome your feedback, and it will be part of our year end survey.
Please select your swimmers events tonight so we can start putting relays together. Thank you everyone.
