👏 Great job to all swimmers, coaches, volunteers, and families for your continued support and enthusiasm.
With a number of meets behind us, you are probably feeling like you have the rhythm of the week down by now. We are about to head into a couple weeks when things take a little turn with the Ken Caryl Invite and Gator open. More to come on those in a moment. Before that, I want to emphasize how important it is to get meet entries submitted on time. Your meet entries start a tight timeline of creating relays, submitting entries to all teams, heating and combining events, and printing the paperwork needed for the meet. Late entries cause ripple effects throughout the process which adds wrinkles down stream. So please be sure to have your swimmers events submitted on time or they may not be able to participate. The coaches will do their best to review entries, but they don't have the capacity to contact 130 swimmers to get them registered for the meet. Our coaches and board members have additional full time jobs, so please be aware of their other commitments outside of swim team hours.
Regarding this week's meet, it will be held at Woodbourne, which is the neighborhood across Simms from Chatfield highschool. They provided a few notes for us:
Parking: It is advised to car pool or ride share to Woodbourne. Please park around the pool area and tennis courts only, do not park in front of houses surrounding the Woodbourne pool.
Concessions: We will have full concessions, so feel free to bring some cash.
This week will be the last chance to qualify for the Ken Caryl Invite. This year the event will be held on the following schedule:
Friday June 27th
Age Groups: 13-14 & 15-18

Events 41-94

Start Time- 7am
We are still waiting for the file from KC to properly load the meet into the website, but when we have it swimmers with qualified times will be able to register for up to 3 events they qualified for. Relays will be filled by qualifying swimmers, but non-qualified swimmers could be asked to participate in a relay. Sign up for the events will need to be done by Sunday night. When loaded the meet will indicate if the swimmer is eligible by highlighting the event in green.
Gator open
Any swimmer younger than 12 who did not qualify for KCI in any event can participate in the Gator Open. This is a league wide meet where results are loaded to a central meet database and results will be based on league wide results. We will be participating again this year with and at Ken Caryl on June 24th at 7:10 pm. Registration for this is now open. If you see your swimmer has ANY event greyed out, this means they qualified for KCI in this event and are ineligible to swim in the Gator Open in ANY events. If they sign up for an event but then qualify this weekend, they will be removed from the Gator Open registration.
Thanks everyone and I hope everyone enjoys their Juneteenth celebration tomorrow. Practice schedule is normal.
